Renee Hulshof

Renee Hulshof is the communications assistant for KBS where she produces the weekly bulletin, assists with press communication and oversees website management. Renee is an experienced public relations and communications professional with 30 years combined experience in media and public relations, communications strategy, political consulting and account management.
In 2020, Renee concluded 12 years as the cohost of the long running talk show “The Morning Meeting” on KFRU radio in Columbia, Missouri. In addition to her on-air responsibilities, she has worked with Rose Media for six years doing strategic communications and public relations. She worked as a campaign consultant for her husband’s gubernatorial and congressional campaigns, and was hired in 2002 as the first executive director for the newly formed Boone Hospital foundation under the joint direction of the Boone Hospital CEO and the Board of Trustees. She worked for Columbia-based Vangel Associates for 9 years, managing the agency’s key advertising and PR clients along with copywriting, editing and media responsibilities.
A 1990 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism (broadcast sequence), Renee is married to Kenny Hulshof. They have two adult daughters, Casey and Hanna. She and Kenny own and operate Kenny’s family farm in southeast Missouri. The couple divides their time between their home in Columbia and the farm.
